From the national award winning California Strawberry Festival in May to the spicy Salsa Festival in July, Oxnard sure knows how to celebrate! Every season brings its own calendar of events and programs!
Whale watching season runs from late December through mid-April. Tall Ships dock at Oxnard's Channel Islands Harbor in February. Summer-time brings outdoor summer concerts, car shows and festivals of every flavor. The Autumn home tour arrives in September, and December ... it's all about lights! The Parade of Lights at the harbor, Christmas Tree Lane in Oxnard's historic district, and the Winter Fantasy & Light Show in downtown Oxnard.

"Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World" an amazing traveling exhibit is on display now through February 17, at the Oxnard Public Library Main Branch. The library was one of only two in the entire state to be awarded the honor of hosting this collection of photos of historical documents and artifacts showcasing the life and achievements of the remarkable man. The Library is also presenting educational and entertaining programs for all ages to complement this extraordinary exhibition. This traveling exhibition is celebrating the 300th anniversary of Franklin's birth. It is based on a major exhibition of the same name mounted by the Benjamn Franklin Tercentenary.

Oxnard is blessed to have the Channel Islands National Park and Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary just off our coast. Year-round there are boat trips that take you out to the island of your choice or on a wildlife sighting adventure. There are even docent led tours available.
