From the national award winning California Strawberry Festival in May to the spicy Salsa Festival in July, Oxnard sure knows how to celebrate! Every season brings its own calendar of events and programs!
Whale watching season runs from late December through mid-April with the Celebration of Whales in March. Summer-time brings outdoor summer concerts, air shows, car shows and festivals of every flavor. The Autumn home tour arrives in September, and then in December ... it's all about lights! The Parade of Lights at the harbor, Christmas Tree Lane in Oxnard's historic district, and the Winter Fantasy & Light Show in downtown Oxnard.

Gather your friends, family and neighbors for a "walk-in" movie experience in the park at dusk. The giant inflatable movie screen and incredible speakers make for great viewing and movie watching pleasure. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Popcorn and other treats will be sold at each park.
Movies play either on a Friday OR Saturday, not both. See schedule for details. Movies are subject to change.

Festival goers will be in for an "uplifting" experience during the Second Annual Citrus Classic Balloon Festival Friday and Saturday July 30 & 31 in Santa Paula. They'll see hot air balloons illuminate at sunset, ascend in the early morning hours to compete in races over avocado and citrus groves toward the Pacific Ocean. The festival will also feature live music, wine and beer garden, a youth soccer clinic, car show, kids' activities, tethered balloon rides, art and craft vendors and food and souvenir booths.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance through the California Welcome Center in Oxnard (805) 988-0717. Proceeds go to the Santa Paula Community Fund.

The annual California McNish Classic Yacht Race will sail into Channel Islands Harbor.
The boats will be anchored at the guest docks of the Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club, open to the public for viewing on Friday.
The race starts on Saturday, from Oil Island "Gina," up the coast to a marker outside of Ventura harbor and proceeds down the coast to another marker off of the Mandalay Generating Station and back to Channel Islands Harbor, outside of the breakwater. The slower vessels will depart first followed by the faster boats, with the last boat departing at approximately 1:30 p.m.
The public can observe the race's finish at the end of the Harbor Boulevard jetty entrance or at Hollywood Beach.

Oxnard is blessed to have the Channel Islands National Park and Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary just off our coast. Year-round there are boat trips that take you out to the island of your choice or on a wildlife sighting adventure. There are even docent led tours available.
